Hello- I currently own a 2012 Kawasaki Concours and considering a new Multistrada. I purchased an ST for long distance/highway driving. I'm 6.1 220 and made several adjustments (tall shield, new seat, and riser). I just can't get comfortable on this bike. The lean angle and buffeting is terrible. I test drove a 2014 GT and found it extremely fun and relaxed.
My question- how is it on the highway (buffeting) with the GT windscreen? How is the comfort for extended rides?

I have ridden both bikes.
Comfort and ergonomics are issues that are as individual as fingerprints. One persons heaven is another's hell.
For me, the multi is a better touring bike because of the more upright seating position. It has better feel because it has more torque. It is also much more nimble than the Connie.
Buffeting has been discussed a lot and the 13 is very different than the 10-12. Look for the threads. With your size it may just be a matter of finding what screen works for you and your riding style.
Good luck, if this is your first duck you are in for a new experience. Kinda like a high school first crush.

Take a test ride, most Ducati dealers let you. I bought mine after one ride, fit me perfect.

I did take the bike out for a quick four mile supervised ride. The closest highway to the dealer is a toll road. Highway testing is not an option.

it's worth paying the toll before dropping big money on a bike.KevinI wrote:I did take the bike out for a quick four mile supervised ride. The closest highway to the dealer is a toll road. Highway testing is not an option.

I have no problem paying the toll. The dealer wouldn't allow it.

Where are you? Hopefully you can try another dealer. You will likely have the bike for a long time, don't get it if you are not going to love it.

+1. I wouldn't buy from a dealer who won't allow a decent test ride.jackpot1 wrote:Where are you? Hopefully you can try another dealer. You will likely have the bike for a long time, don't get it if you are not going to love it.

My first 1200 test ride was at a dealership that I'd never been to, in a different state. I'd had to have my 1100 multi trailered there after the clutch line blew. While waiting for repairs, I asked if I could ride the brand new '10 1200 they had. The salesperson tossed me the keys, and said have a good ride. I even had to go back inside and ask where the key went! Had one hell of a good one hour ride on the thing, and they were surprised when I came back so soon. But I had to catch up to my traveling buddies who had ridden on ahead.
I would have bought one from them on the spot (which I have done in the past), but the three they had were already sold.
