Hello all,

I am contemplating a mts 620. My use would be only as a commuter and maybe some weekend cruising, no long distance touring.

My concern is with the Dark having only one front brake as I am 6'1 and 270. Would that not be enough stopping power? Should I consider the other 620's with two front brakes?

Also, what are the costs for the 600 mile service and the 6000 (or yearly) service? I am in Southern California, not sure if that increases costs.

Does the chain need to be adjusted more than yearly?

Thanks for the input!
Cheers!

The 600 Mile service I just had on my MTS620 was $249 before taxes.

As far as the brakes, one brake will most likely be fine. Bikes only had one brake in the front for years before having dual disc in the front and they worked OK.

For me it was a matter of colour. The wife likes black, so she got the matte black one. I think Ducatis should only come in red, so I got the red one.

By the way, the 620 is a great commuter bike but is also good at 1-up touring. If I was touring 2-up I'd get the 1000.

I own a red 06 Mts 620. Logged close to 2000 miles the last couple months on it, and I cant say enough about this bike.
Its light, and narrow between the legs. The handling is confidence inspiring.
It will automaticly turn you into a better rider.
I love the overall styling of the bike. Its mechanical artwork.
In my area, there are not many Ducs running around, let alone Multistradas.
So no matter where I go, it alwalys draws a crowd, and long stares at traffic lights.
Im willing to bet, on a windy country road, you 1000cc guys would be in my mirrors the whole time. Yeah!, you read that right.
Dont get me wrong, chose your weapon wisely. For mainly 2up, go for the extra torque the 1000 offers. For commutting, the 620 is lethal.

It's not a matter of time but miles. How often you adjust the chain depends on how many miles you put on it.

They should come in Yellow as well. I wish Ducati would make the 1000 in Yellow like the 620.
