I'm in the market for a Strada and have looked at a few 2004 models,now I'm seeing some 2003 listed , did they import 2003 into the states and what are the differences for 03 and 04...??? also what value would 2003 be

Actually, '03 and '04 are the same, right? They fixed those items for '05, thought.
SFGUZZI, I think it all depends on the bike, price, warranty situation, etc. If you find a good '03 that has had the mirrors and sidestand replaced that is decently priced, go for it. Also, if you find a bike that is under warranty, regardless of year, those items will get replaced by Ducati.

Also, some of the '03's had engine paint peeling issues. If it hasn't started by now it won't start.

I bought a used 03 after considering 04's. There is no differences that I know of. The mirrors, side stand, shield, seat were all changed in 05. No paint peeling issues. Definately factor in the cost of fixing these items and don't buy an 03 or 04 unless you get an appropriate discount vs. buying an 05 or 06.
