Is there anything peculiar to Multistradas that I should be aware of when buying a used 1000DS or 1000sDS? Thanks in advance!

A few have had 'shuddering' front brakes.
Other than that, just service history, clutch action and the usual stuff (tyres, chain/sprockets etc).
Some of the early ones had poor finish on the engine cases, the 04 had crummy sidestands, mirrors and seats (first two can be replaced under warranty).
I really haven't seen any sort of problem that a LOT of them have listed here or anywhere else. yeah, the fuel gauge is horrible, but that is just the way they are designed.

Might as well get an '05 or '06 while you're at it. Then you get the good mirrors, side stand, screen, and seat - all of which I changed on my '04.
THEN you'll change the horn, the cans, etc.
