We don't have any old guys. We had some guys that were in their 70's, bought a multistrada, and within 100 miles they lost 20 years!

There's no time like the present, Henry. This is one of the best rides you'll ever take, so, take it !

I am 60 (near enough) and have a 620. Is that old enough?

I'll be 68 in September. I just got my 2004 Multistrada 1000DS and I love it. Two years ago I sold my 748....mainly because of the riding position putting weight on my wrists and hands....but I missed it. The MTS is great fun.

Thanks!! That is what I expected to hear. I really like my 1150 RT but want something smaller for the bad roads around here. I have been looking at both the 620 MTS and the BMW 650gs. They both have some things I like.

Thanks Joe, and I do intend to do just that. I went through Modesto last week and stopped for a few minutes and took a short ride on one at the dealer. I am hoping to see you soon. Thanks again Henry

Dear Jovial -
I'm 57, coming off knee surgery and a mild stroke. Last winter, I bought a MTS 1000 as a first bike. Chose it for ergos, usage (lots of curvy badly surfaced roads in Vermont) and all around suitability. After taking MSF in May, I have put on 3,500 absolutely fun, troublefree miles, including one overnight jaunt to Maine and Quebec.
Just getting handwarmers on now to extend the season.
In short, it is one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Thank you to all those who answered before me, I thought I qualified as an old guy. Bought my 1000 at 49 11/12 ( birthday present).Jovial Henry wrote:Do any old guys ride MTS. I am 70 and thinking about a 620.
Find a 2006 1000, get a vented clutch cover and let her sing!

I'm impressed, I hope that I can still ride a sports bike at that agekenk wrote:I'll be 68 in September. I just got my 2004 Multistrada 1000DS and I love it. Well I am a lot closer to 68 than 67 Henry, and instantly became a more polished rider when I swapped from my Moto Guzzi California to an MTS three years ago. The balance of the bike allows me to do things I could never do on the Guzzi, either at very low speeds or at high speeds. Not riding it as wildly or with the total disregard for safety that I did when I was in my teen years (Matchies and Velos), but I have never enjoyed riding more.
Currently on a 1000S DS and have a job to believe would ever want to change it for a different bike.
