I currently have a BMW F650. Changes in my commute situation is forcing me to go the major intertate here in Denver to get to work, which is what I primarily use the bike for. I am a about 245lbs and the 650 is not gonna be able to hang in the 75 MPH speed limit that I will be going 15 miles of. I love the Multi but can't find a 1000 to trade in the BMer for, only 620's. Should I wait till I find a buyer for the 650 and get a 1000 or trade in for the 620?
I need to know if the 620 is going to happy going 75-80 mph in traffic or is that going to be as bad as the 650 that I have now?

I have no problems maintaining 80+ on the slab (I take the Springs Denver I-25 corridor frequently.) I am only 6'2 180 so there might be a difference is size. I got the 620 because if felt better and I was never going to 2 up. If you are going to do 2 up go for the 1000 else the 620 should be plenty.
Good Luck!

I'm 6'4" and a few lbs. over 200, and I find the 620 to have plenty of power, particularly when riding 1 up.
I used to have an Aprilia Pegaso, which is basically an F650, and I've ridden an F650 a few times. Comparing the MTS 620 to the F650 is like comparing a Corolla to a BMW 318i. The MTS is WAY more comfortble, stable, flickable, faster, no "wallowing" and you sit more upright - which translates to a better view when riding in traffic.
I came to the 620 from a BMW R1100S, and have NEVER regretted it. The MTS is SO much more fun!
The 1000 weighs a few more lbs., but I don't think it would make much of a difference on the highway UNLESS you were to ride 2 up. There are a few on this board who are about your weight +, and ride 620's. I'm sure they will chime in on the subject as well.
Good luck!

yes but the 1000 with full pipes totally Rocks, like a superbike!
you feel like a God and everything with a tin top is a mere mortal, effortlessley accellerating from 60-90 with a twist of the wrist,
ohh the evil pleasure of it !!
lesser beings must submit to my will to pass, must endure the evil eminating sounds from my full liter of thumping muscle through termi Carbon pipes,
oh the joy of POWER
Succumb to my evil Seduction of lust for Wheelies
Howling pass the minions like frighened sheep without a sheppard
I AM the Way

I've only got about 4000 miles of bike time on me (all 620), but based on my experiences so far, if I was going to do a lot of highway driving I'd go for the 1000/1100. The 620 can of course handle the 80 mph pace but a lot of times it would be nice to have the extra power, especially for passing. It would also be easier on the wrists.
At 80 mph I think I'd be at about 6000 rpm in 6th gear already. So with a top end of 120 mph and 10,000 rpm there isn't a lot of room up there. This is with a stock 620 setup.
