I am currently on a '02 m900ie. I love my Monster and after stomping through the Catskills yesterday, I'm still amazed with it. However, my wife hates riding on it, and honestly I don't really like her back there - the stock seat is awful, blah, blah. You all (probabaly) know that story - the Monster is NOT a 2-Up bike.
My question: How does the MST do with a passenger? I'm looking to get something that we can both ride comfortably for "weekend getaways" but that I can also stonk on when required. I've heard nothing but great stuff about the Multistrada, and would like to hear about your experience with passengers, etc.

I rode my Multi for almost a year before giving two-up a try with the wife.
No, not because I'm a self-absorbed bastard...but because my wife was carrying our firstborn and she didn't want to be riding while in a family way.
Once we tried, though, we were both surprised at how well the bike does two-up...at least for our relatively short journeys. I think it would be fine for weekend-type getaways, which unfortunately we won't be doing since the kid won't fit in the small pannier...
