I hesitated to post up here because I think you guys may be a little biased...
I was at a dealer the other day just poking around and saw an MTS 620 in person for the first time. Anyway, long story short, I now want one. Really want one.

I'm on my second bike, both naked sv650's. I definitely don't need a new bike, but I've been wishing for something that could handle long rides a little better (something with a windscreen.)

I've kind of been looking at a wee-strom, but the multistrada really got me. Fit, weight, seat height, and it seemed like it could handle anything. I know I can test ride a v-strom, and I might be able to test the used mts that the dealer had. I bought my first bike from them a few years ago.
I live in Florida, so a bike that can handle the 400 or so miles that it takes to get to twisty roads without wearing me out is a must-have. I want to be able to go to the mountains without a trailer.

Have any of you here had compared these two bikes and what are your thoughts?
I don't want or need anything bigger than this (Although if Ducati made an 800 mts, that would be cool.)

I test rode the SV650 and the Wee-strom a couple of times before shelling out the dough for my multi. In a nut shell, the Suzuki's are good bikes, but the Multi is a work of art. It rides and handles a lot better, especially when compared to the vstrom. The Vstrom felt very large to me considering it's real size and weight. I haven't taken either Suzi for a long ride so I can't speak to their long term comfort, but I can literally ride the multi all day and feel great. If you're looking at a used Multi, I bet they'd let you test ride it. BTW, there are several Vstrom vs. Multi threads if you search for them. Not all agree totally with my take either. Some think the Wee strom is better for distances.

You'll probably want a better screen than stock, and may want to adjust the suspension (depending on the condition of FL and GA interstates), to deal with the express portions of your 400 mile days. Other than that, I'd say you'd be set with the Multi.

If you do a search here for vstrom 650 I think you'll find a lot of rational reasons why we all went with the MTS 620. I'll bet a lot of us 620 owners had the wee-strom on our list of wanna buy's. I did!
But I didn't!!

Cheaper, better performance, better serviceability, better parts availability, better all around.

All that said, buying a bike is not about better, it's all about love. It is the same reason that you married the woman your with (at least for some of us). ( This might apply for the women out there that rides Multis, but I have no point of reference, so I really can't comment) They, women and bikes, spark something intangible in you that make irrational decisions, seem rational.

The Multi, and Ducatis in general, are all about the passion. I have never had that feel from the Wee-strom or any other motorcycle. The only exception to this was my 1982 Yamaha Vision. This was my first bike.

The bike in the link is not mine, but very similar to the one I had.

Let me know, I have a 06 620 Dark with less than 4000 miles. It has KTM handguards. The bike is a 9.5/10. Service is up to date. I really like the bike, but I just bought a 650L for dual sporting. I barely have time to ride one bike and two is just not working right now.

I have been half ass trying to sell it lately. Kinda want to but kinda don't.

I had it on a few websites for 5800. This is negotiable of course.
I also have a vanson Jacket and gloves(never worn) I will through in if the price is right and they are your size.

Can send email pics of the bike if you like.
