OK I'm new to this form own a BMW R1150R thinking I want to replace it with a Multistrada. I don't ride fast will take it on 400 mile rides. I'm a 60 year old Italian thats wanting to own a Ducati. Would you guys buy the 620 or 1000? I would prefer a 2005 or 2006 model. Thanks for your input.

Anyone want to Trade?

My reason for getting the 620 was for fuel economy and a lighter weight. On the negative side, unless you are willing to upgrade the front end, the 620 has a non-adjustable front suspension.

i had a R1150R Rockster before my Multi and am quite happy with the 620 - i also am not into top speed running. Acceleration off the mark on the Multi is at least as good but in general you do need to use the gears more and the bike does feel more lightweight than the BMW when riding two up. The Rockster also had a better seat and i liked the ABS - but i wouldn't go back.
With the seat sorted i have done a number of 450 mile days on the Duc.
