Re: Need more info before purchasing

2) Is the 620 worth a consideration? They have a brand new one sitting there and the price sure is nice, but I'm not sure if it is worth it. I read several posts that the 620 suspension is pretty bad. Is it out of the question if I ride two up once in a great while?

Thanks for the help

Re: Used MS620s

Most low mileage used are going $6K+ and new $7K+.

Agree that if you're buying off ebay be careful, find someone with lots of good feedback.

or find one from here but still make sure its someone that been on the site for a while.

Wiring $$$$ money or even 3rd party is a no-go for me. I like to ...

Re: Noob questions <------ here.

Brad, I got one of the first 620s when they made it to the States. There are still some leftovers at different dealers if you want to hunt one out or used is always an option. I did about the same thing. I saw the Multi, read about it, then never looked at anything else.

My buying experience was ...

Re: Should I buy a used bike first?

Nope, regular maintenance and adjustments are not warranty. If its broke or runs poorly, thats warranty. Dealers have to make money other than just initial sales.

In my 18 months of ownership & 16K miles, I've spent ~$1800 for service, 1 set of tires and a chain. More than half that total was ...

Re: Should I buy a used bike first?

One method that I've heard that works is to write a letter describing what you want. Fax it to any dealer you're willing to pick up from. Instruction them to fax you back a quote. Then take your pick.

If you want to work with the dealer you're at, be blunt. Tell the saleman you're also considering ...

Re: Should I buy a used bike first?

I too agree with GrayMia, you're not bound to lay it down. That said, I did on day two of my 620. Damn gravel. I was enjoying myself, not watching the road conditions, just way too much grinning. Oh well. Now at 15K and I'm finally replacing the scrathed up parts. Other than that just standard ...

Re: Purchasing MTS 620 without a test ride

Saying everyone is going to drop their bike is BS. Yes a lot of people have, and yes most inexperienced riders will, but not EVERYONE!

Yeah...I suppose I exagerated saying you will drop the bike. For sure some won't, but as you say Scram, most will. When I said that, I meant it to make a point ...

Re: Purchasing MTS 620 without a test ride

I ordered mine 2 months before they hit the States. No test ride, no leg-over, no regrets.

I'm 5'10" and still get wind at the top of the helmet even with the Laminar Lip screen, but the wind doesn't bother me, but the bugs do. I do ride occassionaly with a pillion, total weight ~300 lbs, hasn't ...

Re: Used mts1000 or new 620? which is the better deal?

You're buying a Ducati, is price really a consideration?

I bought the 620 cuz I wanted to be able to use the full range on the road everyday (and stay alive and out of jail)

I'm going to have a dealer do the 12K service then I'll probably start doing them myself. So, when I hit 18-20K around New Years I'll work up a fix for this. (you know, while the tanks off) Till then I'll live with the light coming on at 140.

Cheers

Re: This Multi's CRAZY!

Oh, and those are NOT Ohlins on the front, the guy had them recoated. In all fairness to the seller he does state that in the description and clarifies that in the Q&A.

True and its good that the current seller is being honest, but when I saw this last year the then owner had gone as far as ...

Re: This Multi's CRAZY!

I know a little history on this bike. KCI in San Antonio did this up for the original owner. It was on sale at Ducati Austin about a year ago on consignment. At the time it didn't have the blue wheels but did have the blue frame.

Of course it was hidden back in the garage. Who would want that on ...
