I know alot of people that have had Monsters (620s, s2r800s) as their first bikes and really enjoyed it. They are super easy to ride, low seat height, confidence inspiring.
My first bike was an SV650, similar power to a Monster that I got the week after I passed my MSF course and I loved it.
Having had my 1200 for a month or so now I absolutely love it, it is def not a good bike for a beginner though, it feels big to maneuver compared to my previous 1000DS, it is unbelievably fast even in the detuned modes, once you hit 5K the bike takes off, I think it would be an intimidating ride ...
You just answered your own question , if the '06 has everything you need (I know I def. love mine) go for that and enjoy it.
You can check out the 1200 in a couple of years when issues have been worked out and prices go down on leftovers, etc.
LOL. You could also check Cliffs in Brookfield CT or Rockwell Cycles at Bear Mt. NY to see if maybe they have a Multi you can trade in on. Good luck in your search
I don't know cost issues between the two but I switched from an '04 955i S3 to an '06 1000 Multi DS and it is so much better in every way, is just as much a hooligan bike as the Speed Triple w tons of useable torque, handles way better and can tour for days on end, def. make the switch to a Multi ...
I should add the above is with the Staintune headers, you'll also need to change up
the stock, more restricting headers to get the most from the Termi kit.
I know I should ask this in another post, but how is the Termi cans/ecu/filter combo on the bike. How is mid range effected.
Thanks,
Joe
Yep, quick thread detour but it works very well, slight boost of mid range and increased smoothness of power delivery on my 1000 DS, not to mention the ...
I can understand if I was looking at a demo superbike that there is probably a concern that at least some of the "test" riders could have abused the bike. There have even been some post that went so far as to say that demo models should be avoided like the plague. Is this true with the Multistrada ...
Hi David, The dealer in the city is Ducati Soho. Kevin who's also on the list here bought his 620 from them, they are pricey but convenient as they are right in the city. My dealership is north of the city about 50 miles in Fort Montgomery NY called Rockwell Cycles. They're a great shop and know a ...
You will feel it a bit while stopped in higher temps but its not a big deal at all.its nothing compared to my 999 which def.roasts you if you're stopped in traffic.
