if I know hat I know now ... I would look for a nicely used Multistrada model year 2005 and up. You will save a few thousand and still get a great bike.

With the money saved you can really customize the bike the way you want it.

My cycling experience or inexperience rather is limited to my teenage years with the ol' XR200 in the gravel pit and on trails behind my parents house. I want to get into road bikes and am really not interested in anything except the Multi. I love the looks and the safe comfortable upright riding ...

Get the "S".

I got my bags from a fellow site rider for $600US.

The MTS will do more for you, it is more "flexible" in the usage. Long distance, track, 2-up

Look for an 05 and up.

I was on the fence between the ST3 and The MTS. I had an ST3 for a week and I decided that I wanted to reach an older age. So I got the MTS.

The ST3 is too fast of a bike for me you find yourself doing 100mph in a blink ...

the two bikes are different in design and purpose. Best thing for you will be to find a Duc dealer and test a Multi.

Wife gave the go ahead so I'm shopping for my multi. Found an 05 1000ds and the dealer was all excited cause he wants to get rid of his old stock and their website has it listed as, "on sale". Call the dealership up and he was going to discount it 1 grand to 10995$ plus freight, taxes.
